Indeed, I too would like to get the official word on this feature's status within the WRP, whichever it be. . .doom3r wrote: where are developers? i just want to know if you can do a mod or something with this feature. Shouldn't be too difficult, huh?

Re: Deactivating the Battle View (from the psx version)
* "Starflight" - the grandaddy of "open-ended" adventure games..... & accomplished on 2 single density floppies !! (just brilliant codeing). It is a very amazing piece of game history. Not yet seen a space game that is that complete either. In most space games, if you land o...

Re: Deactivating the Battle View (from the psx version)
* A detailed Review of Machines with some nice screens Wow, this game, Warzone, Battlezone, it is almost like the rise of Action-RTS was assumed to come along with 3D-RTS as a never-to-be-separated package. And then that brilliant idea just dropped off the face of the earth and everyone made 3D-RTS...

Re: Deactivating the Battle View (from the psx version)
I agree on all points. :) It can also be noted that the open source TA Spring has a similar feature, where you can take command of any unit you have selected, drive it around, aim and shoot the crap out of anything (even the terrain, being deformable). Never played the game 'Machines', cannot seem t...

Re: Deactivating the Battle View (from the psx version)
* If the WRP obviously shared the same operational philosophy with Pumpkin Studios vis-a-vis the game, its fans & its future then this would have clear traction. But from what I've been able to observe here abouts & in the logs, it appears those operational philosophies reside apart in dist...

Re: Deactivating the Battle View (from the psx version)
But there were some special features hidden in all that duplicated crap that got also removed (like the drive feature mentioned here, and some special effects). I remember that the gauss weapons had a firework-like explosion effect when they hit something. It was a little more spectacular than what...

Re: Deactivating the Battle View (from the psx version)
The "follow" command of the pc version, which is pretty useless, should be changed with this one, which is instead much more useful, I believe. I agree whole heartedly! Those of us who played the PSX version or any action/rts game would really appreciate having this take-command feature r...

Ah, it looks like at least one of the older releases works, thank you.Giel wrote: Not sure. You could try some of the *.dmg files in here http://download.gna.org/warzone/releases/2.0/

Re: Is there a version that runs on a pre-Tiger Mac OS X
Were there any older versions already compiled for standard osx (like 2.0.5 or such?)

Is there a version that runs on a pre-Tiger Mac OS X
I'm trying to get someone hooked on this game, but he uses a version of OSX from before whenever apple started naming operating systems after different cat species, and so the Tiger version on the site doesn't run on his machine. Is there a version that would work off of straight OSX somewhere?
