2c-Arizona V1.0 (Campaign 1 Remake - 255x255 Map)

Post by Black Project »

Allow me to present my first map, a remake of the classic campaign 1 map.

Before you could ask me:

Does this map is a response to lav_coyote25's Campaign 2 250x250 map?
No, this map is not a response against his map, we're not competing each other to see who makes the better map :lecture:
I just wanted to make a bigger map by simply enlarging it's heightmap with Paint.NET and using the Map Texturer + Cliff Brush with Flail13 Map Editor

How much time you've taken to remake the entire map?
2 days, believe me XD

Please, don't complain that your units will spend most of their time travelling than battling, there are scavengers on your way (If you activate them) or the map texture has only two textures (Red Sand combined with Red Cliff plus small craters)

So, let's go to the point of the map :)

Features.

No bases even if advanced bases is on (Pre-made Command Center + 4 Trucks for each player)
In the next version will have a full pre-made advanced bases (2c-Arizona V2.0)
2 hugely defended scavenger control posts + 4 heavy defended Scavenger bases (2 bases with resources)
Scavengers have Ground Shaker 155mm Heavy Howitzers scattered in the map borders (Next version will have even more)
I recommend you to play with DyDo AI 2.2.1 + Scavenger DyDo AI 1.2.1, but it's just optional.

Resources
8 resources to each player (Total: 16)
4 derricks for each Scavenger Bases (Total: 8 )
2x4 Scattered Oil Resources per each side controled by Scavengers (You should overcome the Scavengers to take control of extra resources)
Total of Resources: 32 Resources

not really, all the pics should be 1024 or less.... yours are being cutoff. :3 :(

edit: never mind: all i had to do was use another tab... then they open to full size... still, 1024 would be better... thanks XD

Giving Scavs the Ground Shaker SHOULD yield that result unless you over do it in amount and positions relative to the Players start base of ops. ;) Then it's a matter of getting to air power which could also be countered by cleverly hiding some SAMs like Pumpkin did in the final stages of the Nexus CAM which I found a very challenging fun highlight. I think those last stages of the original CAM are very instructive on what to do and what not to do when approaching a BOSS type design level map.
