Idea: Reaching the Year 2150 by researching the 4. Generation of Technology, T4!
After you built certain Structures or researched certain Things, you can research T4 and reach the Year 2150.
This Idea creates much Space for many new Ideas:
New Campaign Missions after the (first?) NEXUS-War, before the Year 2200 arrives with new Happenings.
Inside the new Campaign Missions, you have to reunite Mankind. In some Missions you get a Faction as an allied inGame-Player showing you its Willingness to reunite Mankind too. At the End of this last Episode, something mysterious happens and this could be the End of Warzone 2100 and 2200 could then start. Some or most of the Technologies get lost again.
As new Research-Items you can implement Shields, my EMP-Defense-Towers, Energy-Walls, the Ability of Cloaking Units, the Ability of Units teleporting a few Fields, and more Things. Just awesome Future-Technologies.
But where do those Technologies come from? Easy: Those new technological Achievements are being developed while uniting Mankind again and sharing the whole Technology, every Faction found and/or developed itself and by combining with the NEXUS-Technologies and all Humans researching together, inside the Campaign. The Artificial Intelligences you are fighting inside a Skirmish, are then the Remains controlled by NEXUS.
Much work, but it would be nice, if the Buildings can change their Look, after researching T4. I doubt, they would look always the same in 50 Years. They should become "more modern" in the Future. Doesn't need to be the Year 2150 though, can be another one of course. And i think, the Structures should not change their Look automatically - that would be unrealistic - you should be able to change them manually by updating them with your Trucks. Or if you want them to change automatically, this should happen with a nice Fading Effect and a Sound. It's up to you, if this only changes their Look or if this upgrades them too by making them producing faster or something like that.
Another Improvement inside T4: New Faster Production researchable for every Factory, called "Nano-Robotic Factory Production" (thousands of tiny Robots doing something - this is the Future in real Life too). Faster Production is recommended anyway, since those huge Multiturret-Units you plan, take Ages to build.
I know, the Game becomes longer and longer, the more you can (or have to) research, but well.. Designable Towers and Bunkers, just like Units, would massively reduce the Tech-Tree and then there would be much lesser Things to research and at the same Time the Game would become more complex, IMO. More User-friendly for sure.
Just an Idea - now i've got a Headache.
