First thing, it would be earlier available less powerful lassat equivalent.
It would use flamer related technology, more like scattering long burning fuel in proximity of for example 3 tiles around (main target all types of units, structures should be less affected).
Each attack would be slow and costly (depending on how powerful it would be, or maybe it should get upgrades too).
It should be limited in similar way like lassat, you can't use it more often than some minutes (but not too much, to make it usable before lassat comes).
This would be (select one possibility):
- artifact like item to pick and transport to target (transporting unit should be marked somehow, maybe glow or pulsating?);
- special suicide turret (I've put that option only for "backwards compatibility");
- special VTOL like (as it needs to return to base to reload) turret.
As I hate suicide units idea I would make it drop that bomb there and give it for example 3 seconds to escape (well, enemy could escape too... or had ability to destroy bomb) or maybe better make it catapult bomb (like very low range howitzer), but that probably should require special turret (but not suicide one).
OK, after another rethinking (when writing this post) I would vote for special, non suicidal unit requiring rearming.
It would require both flamer and howitzer technologies, cost around price of dragon body (but available earlier), have moderate HP (to let it have possibility to reach target at all), with at least two minutes to produce and limited to have only one unit at the time.
Rearming (possible minute after last bomb dropping, so delayed also by time to return or rebuild if gets destroyed) should require at least returning to HQ or CRC (or special structure similar to VTOL rearming pad), or maybe we could allow turret to regenerate bomb after returning into proximity of HQ (could be the same as for arming the bomb).
