Idea for when host quits

Post by bendib »

I thought of something in a match on WarOfTitans when the host quit:

What about a dialog that asks whether or not you want to replace current players with an AI? If you select yes, an AI is put in place of the other players and inherets all their stuff. If you select no, you are returned to the main menu.
Also known as Subsentient.

I've heard talks about multiplayer game saving recently. Probably related?

well, we all know THAT will never happen. too much code writing and we have been advised in the past never to expect this.

Well, Per and Cyp didn't sound that pessimistic, which was some surprise for me too.

MP Game saving would be awesome... I don't mind long games, but anything over an hour can be problematic.
This is why some features aren't implemented: http://forums.wz2100.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=7490&view=unread#p87241

seriously? the last time this was discussed ( and this has been discussed over and over and over and over...ad naseum) the community was advised that the coding alone would be insurmountable ( or something like that). so, whats changed? we have new coders or what??? seriously, that would be awesome sauce. thing is, after being told no so many times, it makes me wonder what is actually happening. once disappointed twice as reluctant to believe. no sarcasm intended nor implied. :)
