Re: Models by macuser
no im saying it looks like its a cannon hidden in the ground, but id hate to see it up all the time, would seem such a waste of potential. plus im a total slurry for toggling ^_^

Pretty nice
Is it going to be a rotating platform partly underground?

Re: Models by macuser
Well I just had an idea, Olrox is rather busy with finals and we have a lot of models that have no texture. Why not try and texture the models and get more of them ready for ingame? so jorzi, mangust I would like to (hopefully if i have enough contiguous time) texture your models. so if you could upload them with their respective ao maps that would be nice

I have some nice zip files with (hopefully) all you need here http://sourceforge.net/projects/artrev2100/files/
I am also doing some texturing myself, so if we concentrate our efforts we might get it done pretty quickly

Re: Models by macuser
Oh, also could you upload your source texture (cammo) and finished texture for the MRA so the models look consistent

Re: Models by macuser
i just downloaded blender so i could export your 3ds's to obj for texturing and WOW blender has a LOT of enviable features. I just wish they would make it with a normal UI it is so weird to get around in

Re: Models by macuser
The camo texture is a procedural marble texture from blender. Since it's a 3d texture, it never has any seams and I can bake it and use it in gimp. This means, however, that it's unique for every model.
I've uploaded the MRA camo layer for reference.
Blender indeed has lots of features, it even has it's own game engine for prototyping. You can simply press "p" at any time and the game will start, using the models you were just making. If you see a texture seam you simply press esc, enter 3d paint, smooth it out and press p again
Unfortunately the interface is quite special, it prioritizes efficiency over ease of learning
