Re: Drive mode
It's still experimental 'cause it needs quite a bit more development - especially on the "battle mode" UI side. The PS1 version of WZ had it more fully deved and functional but the PC version did not at all match it.franek12354 wrote:http://guide.wz2100.net/cheats

Re: Drive mode
Probably Buginator could answer that question best. But my own sense is that a key factor will be the full dev & implementation of BETA widget / LUA.franek12354 wrote:hmmmm so what we can do?
I would say the short answer is more coders joining the team and interested in working on this.
The following threads will give you a good background of what's up with this:

Re: Drive mode
Well, uh.. if you know how to code, you can help fix whatever issues there are with the experimental implementation and then submit a patch to the project

Re: Drive mode
In open source projects, it's mostly all about contributions. Most developers choose what they would like to work on. Unless, of course, if you decide to hire their services to code whatever feature you would like to see in the game.
And then there are some who learnt coding and implemented the features themselves...

To clarify, it's not experimental because it lacks features - we can always add features later.Rman Virgil wrote:It's still experimental 'cause it needs quite a bit more development - especially on the "battle mode" UI side. It's experimental mainly because the networking code doesn't support drive mode yet. Because of that, we can't allow it to be used in multiplayer, which is why it is considered a cheat.

Yet, in it's present form, even if the net code supported it, it's pretty useless without the combat features (can be a downright detriment in combat group maneuver, & in engagement, a veritable disaster).... but it is super useful for taking neat screen caps, IMHO.
