Cyborg only matches
I have recently starting trying to host these, new players are skeptical rather its a good idea, but quickly change their minds after a match. I'ts a great twist on the game really, it puts everyone on a level playing field when it comes to researching, no one knows the best way.
Pros:
Change of play style
A different challenge
No more thousand tank unstoppable armies
Research is more challenging and less straight forward.
Cons:
Players are skeptical at first, and may not join the server.
Cpu's have a problem identifying the lack of tanks, they do not produce anymore cyborgs than if they did with tanks on.

Re: Cyborg only matches
Limiting tanks and VTOL messes the balance it would be super easy to turtle with the only threat being borgs, just a couple cannon forts and your basically safe then it will just be an artillery battle...

I bet MG borgs stand a decent chance against flamers, if you micro them correctly.

Yes they do, if you control them right you can do it with out ever getting hit and just knock them off.

I have not encountered any problems yet, to defend against that many cyborgs your going to need more than just cannons. Most games end before super cyborgs are even researched. It's a different playstyle, base defenses are pretty much useless unless they are high fire rate. Even then you still need A lot of them, these are usually hosted on mero river or NTW. I am up to server 7

Are you sure? I'd imagine MGs would be hella useful.

Impressive. Any sense for how that would play out with Needle gunners rather than Scourges? (Cheaper, tougher, and as all rounders, a bit better against structures).Daltx wrote:150 Cyborg vs Small Defense...as I said unbalanced with just cyborgs!

If you're going mid-T3, you should be using Hellstorms, HL's, and Plasma Cannons.

Re: Cyborg only matches
9 servers so far, still no lame games yet
Artillery does tear cyborgs apart, but the volume of them would take down the defences to 0 if not very low before ( or even if) the cyborgs are destroyed.
You guys can say whatever you want, from the 9 games ive played it seems to reward the team that can combine thier forces and move together in one attack. Usually a combo of mg and grenadiers do well, the flamers are not as effective as you thing they would be.
Im still debating whether or not to enable VTOL-but make it limited, 1 factory, no pads
