Sensor Hard Points
How about making the sensors as hard points so they can be built into walls?

It will just complicate things...Wibble199 wrote:How about making the sensors as hard points so they can be built into walls?
However, I remember a mod having sensors placed on corner walls...

Re: Sensor Hard Points
or, how about Sensor towers with cannon and AA defense attached to it?

That would be a fortress. And it can't be done.XHero_of_ChaosX wrote:or, how about Sensor towers with cannon and AA defense attached to it?

Stop fantasising about extremely crazy combinations!
And make a structure designer so you can make them easily!
Really... This is the craziest thing I heard this week.

hmm, my last post was a bit crazy. but a sensor bunker isnt. i would say its pretty basic.

Would you place a turret that is supposed to keep survailance of an area on the ground or on a high structure?XHero_of_ChaosX wrote:but a sensor bunker isnt. i would say its pretty basic.

Re: Sensor Hard Points
I understand your point, but even if you have something blocking the tower(like a mountain) it still works just fine. but, the tower has a lower defense rating than a bunker. Im looking at it from a more defensive point rather than how tall it is. a bunker would be best in my opinion, from a defensive point.

Re: Sensor Hard Points
Lore-wise, it should be noted that sensor systems that require high ground, such as those used in Warzone, would be somewhat worthless in a bunker. You might as well just build a machinegun bunker, at least then it could attack things.XHero_of_ChaosX wrote:I understand your point, but even if you have something blocking the tower(like a mountain) it still works just fine. but, the tower has a lower defense rating than a bunker. Balance-wise, I'm afraid having sensors more durable than they currently are could cause problems.

Re: Sensor Hard Points
Well Sensor hardpoint isnt a crazy idea!
Senzor should have rocket launcher with normal sensor range of view.So i want to say that sensor should be armed with rocket launcher and that rocket launcher should be small and a bit weaker then light cannon. For the hardpoint of course.
For the senzor bunker,it should be armed with twin 7.76/7.56 machine guns so it can defend it self but a bit less expensive then sensor hardpoint.

Re: Sensor Hard Points
Why are you so crazy about defending a sensor with it's own weapons???
It isn't possible with curent engne, anyway
Ah, almost forgot this: Most of WZ maps have lots of space, so you don't have to squeze things one on each other and you can just build defenses around it!
Instructions for sensors don't say "Don't build any defensive structures near it!"

Making suggestions isn't about just saying things that sound cool. It's about writing out an idea, and then explaining how it would fit into the game's balance model and how it would make the game more fun overall.Zarel wrote:Balance-wise, I'm afraid having sensors more durable than they currently are could cause problems.
You have the first step, making an idea, down. Now the next step is to justify your idea.
