Speed reform
Here's my suggestion. Increase the amount by which engine upgrades increment unit speed.

Re: Speed reform
That's because they're really small; on the order of 5% increases. They're designed so they don't overpower the differences between different propulsions and weight classes.

They should be raised to like 10% so people who have them have an advantage over someone else who doesn't have them, all else being equal.Zarel wrote:That's because they're really small; on the order of 5% increases. I'd think a mod of this kind would be a great addition to WZ..KukY wrote:I agree. Would make a mod if I wasn't busy with somethng else...

Re: Speed reform
Another reason for not noticing it: Most propulsions have a speed limit that remains unchanged, so you won't see these upgrades do anything unless you use some very heavy weapons. That's because they're really small; on the order of 5% increases.

Re: Speed reform
It only really matters on heavy tanks with heavy weapons.
Going from 120 to 125 speed - meh
Going from 5 to 10 speed= huge difference.
Of course, there are no combinations like that, but still.
Only really heavy tanks gain a significant benefit.
Also note that speed is capped for each propulsion, so even with powerful engine upgrades, tracks wont outrun hover or wheels.
But it might make a python faster than a mantis, if the mantis isn't upgraded as well (I think it already can, for some weapon and prop combos), but this may not be a bad thing.
We might actually see some collective bodies put to use if engine upgrades are improved.
