I just tried running openal in safe mode, and the problem still persisted. It gives me the same warning "some open al files are in use- a full reboot will be required to complete installation." Restart, and same thing, even in safe mode.
any suggestions?

I get this error but only when I press shift+backspace or type cheat on.
I try this on 3 different computer: 1 is a Toshiba Satellite A10 notebook computer with 2 Ghz Celeron with 1GB of memory and a SoundMax Digital audio card, 2 is a Desktop computer with 3 Ghz Pentium 4 with HT 2 GB of memory and Sound Blaster 5.1, 3 is a Acer netbook with 1.66 Ghz Atom with 1GB of memory.
It runs fine on the Acer netbook which has Windows XP SP3, but my other 2 computer it crashes which both has Windows 2000 SP4.
