Missing Music Track

Post by yic2006_44 »

I have extracted and created an .ogg file of the missing music track from the original Sony Playstation game. It was not included in the game on here for whatever reason. But in any case, I named it track3.ogg. To use it, open up music.wpl and add track3.ogg to the list. Does anyone know where I can post the .ogg and updated .wpl file for people who want it?

what did you use to extract it? and how?
i tried to find a way of extracting the ps1 collective vids because the uk audio for them is different from the vids in wrp from what i remember.

I have a Playstation Emulator called epsxe, I also have a program specifically designed to extract XA audio from Playstation games. I simply had PSmplay analyze the Warzone2100 disc image (.bin) and then I searched through the analyzed data and for all the XA audio files that were extracted. I found the right file by listening and extracted it directly as a wave at 44.1Hz. Next I have a program called GoldWave, which I uploaded the wave file into. I also downloaded the .ogg Vorbis RC3 codec. After looking at the already existing .ogg tracks included with the pc game, I determined mathmatically what bit rate and compression method was used, and then applied that to the wave. Then I saved that as the appropriately compressed .ogg and made the required change to the music.wpl file. And there you have it.

I think we decided that it was ok to include that track, if we can get a lossless version of it as well (the raw WAV, or compressed as FLAC).

Yes I do have the file as an uncompressed .wav file 16 bit stereo 44.1Hz taken directly from the XA file on the disc. Is that considered lossless? I will be uploading these files onto here today...

track3.wav
track3.ogg
music.wpl (modified to include track3.ogg)

I noticed that the XA files on the disc are identical up to a certain point to those included with the pc game. But they seem to be truncated with a fade out on the original disc. Perhaps there is CDDA data that I am not seeing or maybe the tracks for the pc releases were made longer on purpose? In any case, here is the file.

XA audio from SLUS-00819, section 80, session 2/3
4m 59s
track3.ogg
I can't upload the wpl file and the wav is too long. Is there any other place I can send the .wav? Contact me via e-mail at [email protected]

Also the music.wpl is easy to change in Notepad. Just change the contents to the following...
track1.ogg
track2.ogg
track3.ogg

Drive mode. Which would be a hell of a lot of fun to use with commanders, if they were improved. :hmm:

I think that's one of those kinda already accepted ideas, but for the far future :P

You control a group of units by taking direct control of one unit, which you move using the joystick like on a driving game :D The targets are shown accordibng to their position in relation to the center of the screen, they are locked on one-at-a-time, and you press X (I think) to attack that specific target! It was really nice to control units like that, as you could have a great view of the landscape and the immersive feel was greatly augmented. :)

I've had a CD of it, I dunno where it is... But you could run it using emulators (then you can use some nice filters as well :hmm: )

Thanks I never knew about that. However I think both me and you are probably getting not just a slight bit off-topic :(
