Mod 1.10
Windows Vista 64bit
Radeon 5770
Intel C2D 3.2 ghz
I loaded all units in the transport to fly to help Team Beta, then theres the mission screen where one can save. Right after I hit "continue game" it crashed. I tried every option change possible, but nothing helps.
Any suggestions?

Ah, just found Ticket #1704 (new bug), I think its the same.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Why, I think he's using it already (as it says on the topic title). I guess you are mistaken because he wrote 1.10, That is the "1.10 Balance" Mod.

beta 12 is not the same as beta 12a.
I read the logs and it shows some stuff was done in 12a for this.
I am also pretty sure that the 1.10 balance mod does nothing for campaign games.
Beta 12a is written explicitly for finding the "cyborg legs bug" because it has some debug options set for that in the code and some other helpful log features for finding that bug. It's sole purpose is to help irradiate the bug.

r10476 was done between 12 and 12a which might have an affect on it, which I think is what Crimson was talking about ( though I don't know what that commit affects.)
First question: Are you playing the campaign with videos? If so, is the crash before/after the next video plays?
Can you try it with 2.3 beta11a?
I ask because I have a similar sounding crash, on MacOSX, at the start of the gamma campaign. I've gone back in and confirmed that my savegame at the start of the beta campaign plays fine in 2.3b11a but crashes when the video would play in 2.3b12. (I.e. at the same point yours does).
I need to zip up some savegames and file a bug ticket. If yours does the same, then maybe it should be filed as cross-platform rather than MacOSX.
