I like Ouroboros (which is greek btw, the norse one was Jormungandr) Naga, Wyrm and Leviathan are also names that come to mind. The problem with a lot of those mythical serpents is that they are often related to dragons.
Gorgon or Hydra would be good.
When you want to stick to real names, boa would be suboptimal, because some pythons are the biggest living snakes. (although the extinct titanoboa was even larger) Anacondas are a little smaller than the big pythons but are the heaviest living snakes.
Or cal it Nessie.

Actually, I want to replace "Hydra" with something else, either way, since "Hydra Dragon" just sounds stupid. :/Olrox wrote:No, no I mean the problem is, the current multi-turret system already places a "hydra" suffix in the middle of the unit's name. If we have it like Ie propposed, we can use "Hydra" for this body's name, because it won't mean "multi-turret quality" anymore.

Ouroboros is too big and isn't easy to remember, not to mention jormungandr. Naga sounds petty (I don't know why, but it does sound petty for meDuKe2112 wrote:I like Ouroboros (which is greek btw, the norse one was Jormungandr) Naga, Wyrm and Leviathan are also names that come to mind. Like I've said, I'd go with Typhon, which even remembers of python, and has a very adequate meaning itself, or Hydra, for the powerful, widespread meaning - both convey "many heads", therefore, "many attacking parts" more addequately than the other proposition. Much like what would happen if we had a canine-named family, then obviously we would choose "Cerberus", for the exact same reasons why we would choose hydra.
Yes, I understood that, and my proposition is to move that suffix to before the weapon name, and change it to simply "Multi", which has the only meaning that we are seeking. Therefore, we would have (for example):Zarel wrote:Actually, I want to replace "Hydra" with something else, either way, since "Hydra Dragon" just sounds stupid. :/Olrox wrote:No, no I mean the problem is, the current multi-turret system already places a "hydra" suffix in the middle of the unit's name. Multi Gauss Cannon Hydra Tracks; or
Multi Scourge Missile Dragon Tracks.
Being black the multi-turret indicator, red the weapon name, blue the body name and green the propulsion name.
That's because I think that "Multi Gauss Cannon" sounds much more logical than "Gauss Cannon Multi" (we would have the second one if we only exchanged "hydra", the current suffix, for "multi", wouldn't we?)
I'm in for changing the suffix to whatever is better and more obvious, single-meaning than hydra. IMO, this neutral, single-meaning, obvious suffix is "Multi" - that was what I meant.
I'm currently with hydra. If someone can prove us (me and at least 2 other members to be sure it isn't a matter personal taste) that it isn't good enough, I'll go with Typhon and remain with that, unless someone can come up with a clearly better name with a good number of reasons.

Re: A multi-turret body by Olrox
We might just change it to a "x2"?
Like "Gauss Cannon x2 Hydra Tracks"
Wouldn't work as well if the secondary turret were different, but at least conveys that there are two turrets.

Re: A multi-turret body by Olrox
I think that it would be more confusing than "multi", because "x2" really points towards "two of the same thing". And if someone ever makes secondary turrets (regardless of the odds of this happening, just "if"), "multi" will do the job as well. Is there any more serious problem with changing the order of the default name components? "Multi" really matches with "multi turrets", IMOZarel wrote: Wouldn't work as well if the secondary turret were different, but at least conveys that there are two turrets.

Well, "Multi" also conveys "multiple of the same thing".
I could put both weapon names in the template name...

Hmm, having both weapon names is fine by me.Zarel wrote:Well, "Multi" also conveys "multiple of the same thing".

Perhaps add a slash to make it more visible that there are 2 separate weapons? Just disregard that if you see it's unnecessary.

Re: A multi-turret body by Olrox
Biggest problem is that both weapon names won't fit sometimes.
"Gauss Cannon ... Hydra Tracks"?
"Gauss Cannon +secondary Hydra Tracks"?
"Gauss Cannon Multi-turret Hydra Tracks"?
I think adding "Multi-turret" may be best.

Nevermind. I've got no problems with adding "multi-turret"

multi means "many or >1" but doesn't mean many of the same, I think.

Anyway, Since this is gonna be made, I'll call this one body "Hydra". I'll try using stiv's advice on how to use the blender export (was in another topic, yeah) to solve some scaling problems I've had before that kept me from fitting propulsions with Hydra.

Why you didn't ask me? ))) I'd solved this problem many days ago when I tested AR models in game.Olrox wrote:I'll try using stiv's advice on how to use the blender export (was in another topic, yeah) to solve some scaling problems I've had before that kept me from fitting propulsions with Hydra.

I've noticed multi-turret units that have the same first turret (but a different second) have the same name, when you use ctrl+Z it selects all the units with the same name despite the fact they are different.

This Body is cool!
You have said, it comes in the new AR-Mod? But can i use it in the Branche in my Mod? Something like that should not be missing it!
