Move the bottom panels to the left?

The bottom panels are usually related with the left panels. Putting them to the left should help them be more easily reachable when you're doing stuff like researching or manufacturing.

Yeah, I agree, that's probably the biggest concern. I just hope it won't be too difficult to relearn - it's not that far from the original location.

Then again, if you open things from the reticule, the most frequent position to select something on the bottom menu isn't the center of the screen, but the reticule. Even if you don't, you're virtually always going to select something on the left menu right after you select something from the bottom menu, so leaving the bottom menu at the center doesn't actually save any time.

On the other hand, moving it to the left saves lots of time, since many actions (researching, manufacturing) require lots of clicking back and forth between the bottom and left menus. Plus, I think it looks nicer, too.

I agree with Zarel (was going to write pretty much the same thing ). I think that it would be nice to have the bottom panel closer to the hub, but it'd be better if the player could "customize" the interface (since WZ2100 is all about customizeability, it makes sense). However, having support to drag boxes around wouldn't be interesting: I think of something like Soldat's "skin" system - I imagine that it was suggested before, but maybe it's worth the fuss?

If this idea goes on I'd be glad to help with anything that doesn't involve programming :rolleyes:
