Factory Render

Post by icefire »

Ok so last night I got pretty bored and decided I was going to make a structure from Warzone in Unreal Engine 3.

After deciding it was going to be the factory, I spent all of 30 minutes making it. Which is probably why it lacks some finer detail, such as mysterious light sources...

Ohh hey it's a factory!

Btw hello everyone :3

That would make a great back ground for the game, assuming the author was interested in sharing it. Regardless Great Job!

No, would take waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much work for my lazyness to handle.

I have nothing against sharing it, but legal concerns regarding the engine itself worry me. That and how it uses content from UT3 is probably a no-no.

Renders from an engine aren't subject to the engine's copyright. If you use models and textures from copyrighted sources, that would be an issue, though...

No finer details? :o
It's very impressive. I don't think it needs any more details. :p

it needs the anti-aliasing to be switched on at least 4x then it might be a "frontend" picture.
P.S. Looks good. :-)

Yeah I forgot to turn it on when I took the screen shot. At the time I took it, anti-aliasing was OFF entirely. I probably could have turned down the DOF effect too, makes it look a little muggy.

Might want to make the "F" thinner, too.

You could try asking the IP owners of all the models/textures if they would agree to releasing them in a CC license? Or try to find CC-licensed replacements for the models/textures you used?

Making the F thinner would take all of 3 seconds, Asking Epic Games to allow me to release them in a CC license....not so much. I could always make my own models, but suck at it :( Just not going to happen

What about http://www.opengameart.org/ ?

You could use some Warzone terrain, for the parts you can't use their terrain for...

Just release it, as long as you don't sell it you're not really hurting them. In fact, it's free advertising for them!

Laws don't work that way.
