multi-platform game freeze!!!!

Post by ferko »

so for about a week now the game locks up on the lvl when u first have to use the mortars. ive tried 2.1 2.2 with wine and native linux, it always locks my machine. this is extremly frustrating because i just want to play this great game. is this a known issue?
Linux dankbox2 2.6.27 #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Dec 9 22:03:51 EST 2008
Four Intel Xeon 1993MHz processors, 15944.78 total bogomips, 1011M RAM
System library 2.9.0 7600GT 512MB AGP
i used the 2.1 binary in the debian repo, compiled 2.1.3 from source, installed windows 2.1.3, then tried 2.2.
HELP :D
thanks

Are you using the binary blob drivers from Nvidia's website? Open-source drivers generally don't have very good 3D support.

Can you zip up the savegame and send it as an attachment?

of course i am, who the hell would think you get 3d otherwise :D ive been running it at 1024x786 in a window
wz.zip
the config in there is from the win install, i have turned off shadows, i also compiled 2.2b from src and that lasted about 4 min :P
should i roll back my nvidia driver to a good one like 169.9 ? i will try that, as soon as my torrent of the retail discs finish xD

If you install the debug version, it makes stderr.txt and stdout.txt in the folder Warzone is in.

ok so that 3 lockup and no .txt files, 2.2 in wine, 2.2 from src, 2.2 installed =P could this MAYBE have something do to with the 2.1 install from the debian repo?

So it's a lockup, not a crash? Can you attach gdb to the process and stackdump the thing?
