I downloaded the latest version but it only gave me a black screen when launched. I tried with the same results for the debug version. I then downloaded and installed ver 2.1 rc1 debug and it worked. For what its worth I did get an Assertion Failure during the game but I just clicked ignore and the game continued.

Since it was the first game I had played in a few years I thought it wise to fight a defensive battle so I just built trucks and machine gun bunkers (it's ammazing how much punishment these can take) and started the research process to obtain the weapons I desired.

I went with a combination of Pepperpot Pits, Pulse Lasers, and whirlwind AA fighting on the SK Valley map. Once I had V Tol capabiility I built pulse laser v tols and linked them to a strike tower. Other than construction trucks these were the first vehicles I built, up to that point everything had been base defences built by trucks.

A bit more research and I finally had the ability to build a few tracked dragons with pulse lasers, seen here on their way to deliver a bit of retribution to the first of my 3 unlucky enemies. Other than construction trucks and v tols these are the first mobile forces I have built. Go big or stay at home. I just drive right through the front door of the enemy base and out the back door with a trail of smoking rubble left in the wake.

Another group of tracked dragons with pulse lasers ammassing for an attack on my final enemy.

- 5 hours and 17 minutes 17 seconds of enjoyment
- 2509 enemy units killed
- 391 enemy structures destroyed
1999 - 2009 10 year old technology and you still can't beat it. From my days in N.E.W.S.T. and Total Warzone I see some familiar old names and its great to see that there are still a few of us around and to all those whose names I don't recognize it's great to see that a 10 year old game can still attract new players.
