first in all ever maps is a study in equally fair player positions and optimal use of mapspace for manoeuvres, and a universally playable map by most numbers of players and team-ups and a layout which facilitates a host of known strategies and perhaps some new ones. though it might seem boring by design, this map could be very much fun to play because of all the tactical possibilities, especially the separated high-oil area's in the corners and the center add an extra tactical dimension to be taken into consideration. but it needs to be balanced out, so, I will post some versions of it and I hope you will test it and gimme some feedback.
The map is plain, with only the basics, maybe I will work on a featured one for fans when the concept works perfectly. it is essentially 8 player, cause it's the most versitile number, but since 10 players plus scavs are possible there will be also a version with 2 spectator/intelligence positions and scavs, and also a version of the 2nd stage of the intended dynamics of the map(you need to relocate, the oil at the initial 1st-stage bases are actually the stray map oil. 1st stage is not a map for those that wanna stay in their base), with 4 players positioned in the center and 4 in the corners and with above moderately featured advanced bases.
these specific octane maps are licensed CC-BY-3.0 + GPLv2 (though if you gonna make money on the concept, which is applicable to other games too, I wanna be part of it), all other maps will be CC0.
this for those that want to take over some layout idea's to use for their own maps. (particularly the even positioning of the players in this case is not too easy to achieve, not by just flipping and rotating some map parts to get a symetric map that is)
