Rman, man you are indeed very kind. I was considering doing that by adding address to this thread here and making a note but I have forgotten. Yes I saw that, I feel a little bit embarrassed.

It's all good. :)

This is a subject I first got into at the old WZ retail bbs with one of the Pumpkin devs. It was a discussion that led to many insights into the game itself including the "Ender's Game" connection. Other potent stuff like Pirsig's "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" and Hofstadter's "Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid". Enduring influence and interest. Part of the tradition, as I know it. :D

Well, it was not cynical at all and that made it more like a cafe atmosphere. Sometimes on a par with gatherings called salons.

And I chose literary Rman in my Master's Degree so yh..

And what scares me the most. When were we at war? My agents report disturbing facts that you have typed such disturbing (facts?) somewhere here and we have no reply scheme for such situation.

Not for a couple years and even then it will be Santorini only. Before then its trips to NYC (several), SF (several), Alaska, Canada, Costa Rica, and, coming up next month, the Four Corners. Would like to spend a couple months in Europe traveling on rail, like one of my brothers does every year. Just not in the cards right now. But things could change.

You bet. :) She's an impressive original thinker and a total gamer to boot. Got more of that rare combo of grit, grace, class and brains than most dudes you encounter in these "intertubes".

Never at war. Just disagreement. Here and there. Nothing earth shaking really, Mero. Just making a point about all grown up, rational, communication being able to handle conflicting PoVs in a positive, agreeable, way. But the offensive "Loch Ness Monster" has reared it's guppy head again. Gosh, I can't imagine bringing that kinda "game" to RL and succeeding in anything. Ostensible a sign of strength excercised but, in reality, just the opposite.

At this moment, my mind is conjuring Macbeth:

But we have also one about people too. If translatet directly it would go something like this.

Who was born as a bustard will nod die as canary. Heheheh ;) Where "was born" indicates the nature of a person only. Does not imply anything to mother or his/her bringing up.

Where bustard, is to mean a swear word, ab ad person. There are also stronger versions of any kind, but it ends with canary always :)

OMG. I expected the visuals to be state of the art and stunning and they are. But the GPMs, they too look to be outstanding. There was that part where Lara is talking to her friend via handset and her friend responds - "That's fracked up!" - man, that had me doing a double take and then cracking up. :lol2: Can't wait to get my hands on it. Gonna play it to death if they have escalating difficulty settings. :)

I have a feeling it's gonna go well with your relatives. :D

I love sayings, adages and idiomatic expressions from different cultures and languages. They are windows into mindsets that can speak volumes with increadible concision, like world class poetry. I like your "canary" saying. Powerful contrast, the image conjures in the minds eye. :)

You see, and you were so negative at the very beginning ;)

Yes, higher difficulty lever may be advisable as an option, but who know how would that go if the player hasn't use those terrain issues for fighting. Also it is said you get all that gear in the middle of the game. Did you see this nail sticking out of the hilt of the shotgun? Very nasty weapon I assume it is to be.

Speaking abiut the relatives, well I think they will not read even half of it, or I will be called the satan provider ;) but still it will be fun :)

We still live with double standards, of that I have no doubt.

Another thing that I wonder about is how in the world they've managed an MP mode of this game. :hmm: Not that that this is anyway a deal maker for me getting the game. Just curious. I also have to decide weather to get the WIN or PS3 version. My understanding is that only the console versions come as packaged discs with the WIN version being only a download of some 3 gigs.
