Also there really should have a way for people to donate money to this game so that there can have developers working 5+ hours a day on the game

Re: Steam Greenlight
it's actually pretty simple to do like changing requirement from opengl 2.0 to 3.0 or 4 we could get a better renderer but most of our fans and developer are using intel gma and old dedicated graphics card which well u knowOriginway wrote:maybe you can ask the guys doing evolution RTS how they are doing it?
some countermeasure like porting to directx version are discussed before and currently in development. but i haven't seen one that's working posted here. probably due to things like tessellation that was implemented in OGL 1.0 while DX need 11.

Got a link? I see no real end in sight for DirectX unless they plan on adopting OpenGL. They may however drop something else within DirectX as they did with DirectDraw, DirectSound, DirectInput, DirectMusic... etc But overall I find it highly unlikely they would drop DX. Too many games and game companies rely on it and PC games are still huge business.

Re: Steam Greenlight
While they might be able to be on steam, it still requires steamworks, and AFAIK, they don't have a version that we could use with our cross-compiler.Terminator wrote:GPL games can be in steam http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=n ... px=MTQ4NTY - good article with one/few example.
Once that is out of the way, then, we have to make sure that they don't charge for anything, and also offer the source as well.
Eidos still holds all the (c) on the game, and everything with it, so I am still not sure how it would be handled.

Re: Steam Greenlight
its fromFaQ of xonotic blog.Valve doesn’t force a game to use Steamworks
from there too.Currently, there’s no “free” library that Valve officially supports too for SteamWorks API
But I hope it will be after SteamOS release, cause it will be debian based & opensource. Well I think so, ets waite & see what's coming

So what? Yes, no, maybe?
I wish that wz would be integrated with steam.
