Re: Puhdoo's Maps
Einschlag
(180x180)
Urban 4-Player map. For 2v2 (horizontal/vertical teams) or all vs all.
Only a few Scavengers on the hills, mainly for 2v2 with vertical teams.
- 2 oils in the center
- 1 oil on each hill
- oil on the riverbanks

Trockental
(200x100)
Arizona 4-Player map. Best for 2v2 with 0/1 and 2/3 as teams.
Some Scavengers in the middle of course.
- 4 oils per base, + 1 a bit outside
- 1 shared oil per team
- 3 oils remaining

Re: Puhdoo's Maps
Amazing! Natural classic-style asymmetric (yet alsmost-symmetric) terrain is probably last thing i expected from an "oh not another map thread again", yet here we are. I'd probably complain on the oil distribution a bit when i have a chance to play, but it's something easily adjustable.
Excellent work, keep it up!

Re: Puhdoo's Maps
Schneedamm
(240x180)
4-Player battle in the Rocky Mountains.
For 2v2 I recommend 0/1 and 2/3 as teams, with the mountain between the two teams.
- 7 oils per base, 3 of them a bit outside
- 2 oils a bit above the center, where the Scavenger base is located
- 3 more on the same top-down line
- 1 oil in the center of each half (left/right)

It looks like a very good map.
I will try it.
Btw, what is the size?

Re: Puhdoo's Maps
I added all map sizes under the title.
After the second game on 'Schneedamm' I also realized that something is missing
...
then I added some trees
Thank you for the feedback, I will probably do another mapping-session in some weeks or months again.

Re: Puhdoo's Maps
Is there a need to explicitly make a license notice in the thread as long as FlaME forces the maker to pick a license and puts it into the addon.lev file comments?

Re: Puhdoo's Maps
Thats exactly what I expected NoQ
In FlaME I had to specify a licence when compiling the map, I selected GPLv2+ or sth like that, do I really need to explicitly mention this with every new upload?
Regards,
Puhdoo

Re: Puhdoo's Maps
The problem is, people have to download to find out what it is, if people bothered to do it at all.Puhdoo wrote:Thats exactly what I expected NoQ![]()

We rather have all information about the license available in thread, for easy reference.
You don't have to do it for each map though, just once is enough unless you change the license for some maps.

Re: Puhdoo's Maps
got it, have to read those licenses a bit more detailed, maybe I'll update it.
For now it's GPL 2+, in accordance with what I chose in FlaME...
so when I'm going to change this, I would have to recompile in FlaME with the new license and reupload the maps I guess,
can I somehow avoid loosing all those nice download-counts?
Or is it ok to mention it on the top of the site, new Users will see it before downloading, and probably
wont read that addon.lev anyway

Usually only distros care about the license stuff, but we are trying to make the job as easy as possible.
