@Emdek: finding base on 10 April 2086 is just too soon IMHO - it pretty much wipes out lots of possible missions in Seattle and also on the journey to the base. It also means it takes them 13 years to bring the base online!
Would it be worth us looking to replace that bit of timeline so that they are finding the base in 2094 or something like that? They'd then have about 5 years to bring it online (several cam missions). But it would mean that we then have much more timeline to play with in terms of them starting out in Seattle and then working to build up a supply chain towards the Rockies. While only 700ish miles for that supply chain, I imagine in a post-collapse world it's going to be a much bigger task due to marauder attacks, etc.
I should note that I have literally no clue about the geography in USA, I'm not even sure where the rockies are! This is where I think they are in relation to Seattle:
If point B is in the rockies then it's certain that The Project would want to go via a different route to that shown on the image above because Washington will be nuked to oblivion and a radiation death trap. This would mean a more feasible route would be up to Mt. Vernon, then probably cutting over to Chilliwack (to avoid Surrey/Vancouver which are likely nuked) then up to Kamloops and perhaps up to the Wells Gray Provincial Park (good excuse to get new tree models in to game!) where the search for the base would start.
I wonder if it would be possible to get topological maps of some of these places and somehow import that in to FlaME to generate more accurate terrain maps to use as a starting point for map editing?
In terms of the timeline, I think we're going to need to decide where the military base is in the rockies (is there an actual base there that we know of?) and then decide what route the project take to get there. Someone who knows the USA far better than I can then perhaps pick out some great locations along the way that would make for strategic points for the supply chain, and there will be places where the project would obviously encounter more resistance.
Also, I notice Edmonds is near Seattle - isn't there a famous air force base in Edmonds or am I mixed up with something else? If project are to look for pre-collapse tech (it's their mission after all) they're likely to start their search locally rather than immediately head to the rockies.
It could be that they go to Edmonds airforce base, find a Chinook hellicopter and then travel up to Mt. Vernon before it runs out of fuel. Then they have to set up a base camp and produce some scav trucks, etc., to continue. It could be that the reason for these events is that they meet fierce resistance in Everett and decide to attack from the other direction. They launch fake attack on Everret from the south (Seattle) while they launch real attack unexpectedly from Mt. Vernon.
