Regarding the Nexus AI

Post by ermns »

Hello everyone :)

I have been testing the AI and I have a couple of questions...

Does the Nexus AI cheat on normal, in the Tech research?
I have been testing the new NullBot AI, and I played on the map along with 3 other Nullbot AI's against 4 Nexus AI's.
It seems to me that the Nexus AI arrived a lot quicker to advanced researches.

Is there a place where I can read about the "settings" of each AI, and what they do?
Thanks

Yes, Nexus cheats with power and research on any difficulty above easiest. That's the only meaning of its difficulty levels. The same applies to the default AI of 2.3.

Is there a link to a page that describes the Nexus and the other AI's (can't remember name right now) levels?

I guess there's not much to describe. Nexus just gets free oil and research speed boost on every level above average, the higher the level the more it cheats. Semperfi doesn't have any difficulty levels, always almost non-cheating. Difficulty levels of NullBot are pretty non-trivial, described in the first message of its thread.

Also, on Insane, every AI starts with defenses even in no-bases mode.

Insane level doubles oil production of AI players, and as NoQ stated they get more base structures regardless of base type as documented here: https://warzone.atlassian.net/wiki/disp ... i/baseType

EDIT: That page is about to get refactored some time this evening and the base type stuff will likely move here instead (but still linked from the JS docs page): https://warzone.atlassian.net/wiki/disp ... tion+Rules
