Missing mail notifications?

Post by cybersphinx »

Did anyone notice the forum not sending mail notifications anymore? A few users complained about their activation mails missing, is this the case for all forum mail?

Hm, so forum mail isn't broken completely. Are you guys sure you used the right email address? You can post them here without people seeing them, the posts are moderated.

Works for me all the time (I've got today at least two already).

Some of the mail domains that people used to register their account was banned, and corrected now.
If you still have issues, then post back (your comments are still moderated, so only we will see them).

Thanks!

NOTE: if you still have issues after reading this, and trying again, If you can, it is easier to talk on IRC, on freenode in either #warzone2100 or #warzone2100-dev (need registered freenode account).

I have requested the mail to re-activate my account twice again, but I did not get the mail. I have also verified my e-mail-address. I see that it is impossible to request the needed mail if a wrong password would be typed in, so I know the one I used is correct when it told me to have send that mail. Help please. O.o

vexed: I can´t. I still have unsolved issues with IRC on the Macintosh. When I try to join a IRC channel with a registered name, I am never able to login. I think that is a technical issue on my side (maybe with Colloguy?!). I was not yet able to solve that problem. That´s the reason why I never went into the Warzone IRC since registration is required. I was often hanging around there as long as it was an open IRC. I miss it. :-( Now let´s try to activate my forums account again. Maybe it can be done manually by the team itself?

Edit: Even if I am able to log in successfully now I do not get any notification mail if an answer is posted to a thread I liked to follow!

Only thing you can do is use a different e-mail address. No idea why the one you use isn't working.

That did nor work for me, do not know why. I had made a new forums account first, until themac would have been solved. I did choose a different email provider (freenet instead of gmx) and a different email address also. I have never got the activation mail. Maybe the notification and activation mails include a text part that is (accidentially/wrong) being marked as some sort of spam or advertising and being filtered of some email providers? That does not tell why my spam folders are empty however. O.o

Try picking another e-mail host. That is the only thing you can do.
Try gmail or hotmail or yahoo.

I've had the same e-mail since forever.. was a geocities email till yahoo took em over. Never had a problem getting email, just have to check the spam folder from time to time to make sure nothing goes there by mistake.
