Not a recommended game strategy (hence the health warning at the start) but hopefully this will be of use to those just starting out in Warzone.
Topics covered:
* How to queue build orders
* How to oil rush (grabbing loads of oil resources quickly)
* Early research focussed on turtling, then switching to missile tanks
* Lots of other random tips for beginners
* Epic scenes of carnage and destruction near the end (:

I loved the video! I also like playing more defensive, not as extreme as your video, but giving more effort on defense structures and defensive strategy.
Until your video I did not realize that this what made me loose games all the time...
So it got me to think that the game is really biased toward fast attack game play, and not only this, that the outcome of the came is actually determined in the first 30 second, and this is by design.
Anyway, I don't want to abduct your thread, so maybe I'll start another one.
And the video is really fun to watch and informative. Thanks!
There is a strong bias towards fast attack gameplay, but under the right circumstances turtling can be very effective. I still revert back to turtling on occasion, it's great fun planning out a base and it's defences then watching wave after wave of enemies get torn to shreds by my ever increasing amounts of artillery and missiles There's many times where I've literally covered half the map in defence structures and then just gradually encroach on the enemy base, finally building a few sensor towers outside their base and watch the long-range weapons pummel them from afar...

I know, I love to play "tower defense" in strategy games. But I think a game should let me choose my preferred strategy instead of forcing me to pick only one, because the others will lead almost certain to defeat. Especially in Warzone2100, that it's main characteristic is the flexibility of the research and design.
Sometimes I play a mix of turtling and aggressive. This strategy worked for me when I was playing the old version, but now it's not anymore.
Maybe if the time it takes to research engineering was reduced a little, it would make turtling a more viable early strategy...?

It's 3.1 beta 7 = need a CC before I can make trucks, usually CC would be 3rd or 4th building I make. And anyway, it's not designed to be an expert guide, it's more focussed on some basic stuff like queueing orders, oil rush, etc.
And, Iluvalar, where are your tutorial vids so you can show people how the experts do it?

Yeah i'm sorry but showing people to queue by stating with a CC is a bad thing. Even if beta 7 have that bug. I'd skip the opening or wait the next version instead.
Well, it takes to long to republish such a long video so it won't be changed now. It was more an experiment for me to see if videos could be used to convey gameplay training.
I suppose I could try and overlay a recording of the early stages with CC being built later. But it takes hours for the published vid to upload to youtube
