2.0.7 hot fix question
Is the July hot fix part of the 2.0.7 .exe Windows install package or does it still need to be invoked with --mod... ? What about the Linux version? I still can't go from campaign 2 to cam 3.
Thanks.

Everyone who wants to play the campaign should download the hotfix mod, copy it into ${warzone_directory}/mods/global/ and start Warzone with the "--mod warzone2100-2.0.7_hotfix1.wz" commandline parameter. So, yes. You still need to add the command line.

Same-same with Linux version?

Re: 2.0.7 hot fix question
Yes. Make sure to add the hotfix to ~/.warzone2100/mods/global or /usr/share(/games)/warzone2100/mods/global (the "(/games)" part is to indicate that some distros put it in there while others don't). Then just use the "--mod warzone2100-2.0.7_hotfix1.wz" parameter while starting.count_zero wrote: Same-same with Linux version?
Note: I think you can also add that file to ~/.warzone2100/maps/ instead, I believe that will automatically enable it (i.e. without the --mod parameter).

Note that some distributors (Gentoo at least) have the hotfix already included. (It wont hurt to load it again, though.)

Re: 2.0.7 hot fix question
Does anyone know what Windows XP directory should hold the hot fix patch file?
When I run WZ2100 on my Kubuntu system, it crashes towards the end of the last mission of campaign 1. When I run on Windows, I can complete the last mission of campaign 2, but I cannot continue into campaign 3.

Re: 2.0.7 hot fix question
Hello,
My Warzone2100 also crashes every time when starting the second campaign.
I tried installing the hotfix under Ubuntu 6.10 but cannot find the Warzone2100 folders
~/.warzone2100/mods/global
/usr/share(/games)/warzone2100/mods/global
~/.warzone2100/maps/
That's what Bash shows (I have copied the hotfix there but it doesn't work either):
moorgott@moorgott-desktop:~$ cd ~/.warzone2100/
moorgott@moorgott-desktop:~/.warzone2100$ dir
config multiplay savegame warzone2100-2.0.7_hotfix1.patch
keymap.map netplay.log screendumps warzone2100-2.0.7_hotfix1.wz
moorgott@moorgott-desktop:~/.warzone2100$
Where can I find the corresponding folders?
While installing the game I left all installing preferences unchanged.
Can anyone help?
Thank you.
Bye

Re: 2.0.7 hot fix question
If you used the Ubuntu package then "/usr/share/games/warzone2100" should simply exist. And "~/.warzone2100/mods/global" and "~/.warzone2100/maps/" will have to be created by you (try "mkdir").Moorgott wrote: My Warzone2100 also crashes every time when starting the second campaign.

Oh and try using "ls" (short hand for LiSt) instead of "dir". "dir" really is a DOS/Windows thing, "ls" is the GNU/Linux way. Also "dir" only exists as an alias for "ls" in most shells (bash's default config on some distros has the "dir" alias).
Did you use this ubuntu package of warzone2100 2.0.7 (as provided on the download page)? If so then you shouldn't have been given any "installing preferences".Moorgott wrote: While installing the game I left all installing preferences unchanged.

Re: 2.0.7 hot fix question
Hey Giel,
after creating these folders and copying the hotfix there it finally worked!
Thank you very much.
And I didn't know about ls. It is indeed better than dir
. Until about a few months I used XP and Ubuntu parallel but I like Ubuntu more and so i don't use XP anymore and don't have it on my harddisk anymore, too. And WZ2100 was one of my favourite Windows games and I was very lucky when I have seen that it also exists for Linux. Actually the original Windows version worked under Wine but with the current Linux version the graphics are better and you have more options (resolution, shadows etc.).

Re: 2.0.7 hot fix question
Well--I am running Windows XP Pro.
Had the game crash on shuttle takeoff after defeating the New paradigm.
Downloaded and saved the hotfix to the mod folder (with reinstall of game--manually deleted program folder as well).
Started game from run command pointing to hotfix.
Still have mission crash.
What now?
I note that the missions from previous game still showed in saved games directory--are they problem? Haven't looke for where they are stored yet.
What's a poor guy to do?

Re: 2.0.7 hot fix question
You should try to download and install the 2.0.8 RC1 version of Warzone 2100
Normally that version fixes the problem people have when going from campaign 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3.
