Post by billyx »

Hey, I need some help upgrading my version. I got the one out of the software center. I have been playing it for months. Now I need to upgrade my version though to play with my friend. I know it's more of a tech problem, and not a game problem, but I have no ideal how to do it. I dl'd the latest version, but duno wtf to do with it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

read this section of wiki its not like the software centre so read it carefully http://developer.wz2100.net/wiki/CompileGuideLinux
you can download the latest release and compile it yourself make sure you and you friend have the same download its not all that hard when you get used to it.

Worked, thank you. Still sucks though we both are running 2.3.9 but it says we're still running different versions. I guess it's because he is on xp, and im on linux.

It's not because you're on Linux and he's on something else.

Are you and your friend able to join public games? Did you download the source tarball or use git? If you used git, did you check out the right version by doing 'git checkout v2.3.9'?

For multiplayer, I'd recommend at least v3.1_beta2, though. Since 2.3.9 has some... uh... bugs...
