maybe a dumb question

Post by dryclean_only »

I'm running Windows XP and I just nabbed this yesterday. I was a big fan of it years ago. I'm not getting any visuals or voices on the mission briefings and also there doesn't appear to be any music. This may be normal with this version and if it is please let me know. But otherwise no issues yet, thanks for bringing back this awesome game!

none of that is on the ressurected version dude, you'll need the original game for cinematics and such although im pretty sure they are adding all that stuff to the ressurected version soon enough.

Out of curiosity... has a player never been created, or does one exist but is technically illegal?

there is one for the original warzone 2 disk set.  rpl player.  HERE

only works if you have the rpl files though.  do not ask for these on this forums.  read the terms of service again please.  thanks ;D

Not asking for anything... I was just wondering because I am aware the Freespace 2 community had a similar issue with the cutscenes of the game for about five years before a solution was resolved. I am not asking anyone to violate any contracts, no worries.

Not, since Freeciv was entirely free from the start. He was talking about "freespace 2". ;)

The company allowed us (or rather one dedicated person) to convert the movies into Theora OGGs.

Honestly before then there was rather a player in circulation, but it was removed from the official source code.
