feedback about last release

Post by Iluvalar »

Ok... first thing first... That is a good news. Just changing version after that long reduce cheaters. At least the one with custom build. cool...

Second, of course, I'm not against any of those changes. I want to thanks everybody that worked on those small fix and improvement.

But then, I really want to ask WHY ?

Why no projectiles fix ? We testplayed the builds, we voted for the best. You were at barely one click away to fix the projectiles going trough ground. So why ? :stressed:

Why no half-build fix yet ? It is making everybody rage in the games. It's already in master it just need a synch. And more then that : It's a %$%? one line fix ! So why ?

And then, why did you not gave a little kick in the balance discussion ? There are some rare but troublesome weapons that I have identified clearly with their proposed changes. Without talking about anything controversial... :|

Many annoying things have been fixed. Nice!
A special thanks to forum member Ezio, for redoing the cut-scenes for us. They are now available on our site.
Thanks! :3 :3 :3
Bug Reports:
What are they good for if no new versions will be released?
Why

I think i'd prefer to switch to the Ilu's build for multiplayer sooner or later, once we agree on its sync changes, and unless i find anybody else to play with on master (:

You have been told why many times. As long as you keep ignoring master and producing changes incompatible with it, we will ignore your changes.

Is there a ticket for this issue? Does it have a patch?

I told you already that if you wanted balance changes in, you had to produce a patch with a clear changelog. I cannot read your script-generated balancing tables.

I am not trying to be difficult here. I just do not have a lot of time for chasing changes that are all over the place. Make a ticket, make a patch, describe the change clearly, and don't ignore solutions already in master -- and I will look at it. It is all I am asking.

Did you played the last 2 years ? O_o You are ignoring me (see above). That's why you are asking if there is a patch.

Why didn't you asked ? I learned there was a 2.3.9 version when you were already compiling it. While, I have a balance proposition since the 1st of august !

I'd like to, but it doesn't launch on my computer at all. You are the one ignoring that detail.

Yeah. I have the cool working code , and they have the manpower to compile useless releases. XD
Reg312 wrote: hi iluvalar, where i can see your balance proposals, it is not about NRS or auto-balance,
where i can see what you proposed to change in current WZ balance system? without total rebalancing
I proposed 2 option .

1. Full auto-balance
2. Cherry pick the worst elements from 2.3.8 balance and only synch those 5-6 weapons + bodies from auto-balance mod.

I'm sorry but as you know, the NRS mod is entirely balanced with those scripts. And as you know it is pretty much a success. So I learned to believe in my autobalance result. For that reason, I'm not very interested to shout loud on such a public topic what are the components that are overpowerfuls in this version. I hope you understand. Come see me on IRC ;) .

Hey you just gave me an idea. Why don't we actually make a dedicated forum section for quarrels? O_o :hmm: :) :lecture:

If you don't see something in our git, don't expect it to be in the next release.

The final version of the 2.3 series is now out! v. 2.3.9

Sure. But we're not looking for people addicted to the forum, neither we're trying to increase the forum's popularity ... we have something bigger here to protect ... right? :)

Let me make a very general reply. When we make a release, we do so on a very short notice, usually because many of the usual suspects needed for pulling a release off are online at the same time, and agree that it is a good idea. There is absolutely no time to start running after people asking for last-minute changes. And last-minute changes are in any case a very bad idea when you want to make a stable release. If you want something into a release, make a ticket with a patch.

Oh, and do not expect any developer (other than perhaps Cyp) to have any idea of what goes on in multiplayer, and you won't be disappointed. If there is something we need to know, you need to tell us. Probably several times.

no. not allowed. leads to flame wars. and will be dealt with harshly. a spirited discussion on the other hand , free of name calling and such, is acceptable. just ensuring that all the community is aware of the rules. as they were to read them prior to joining. thanks for reading. have a nice week. :)

To say this is annoying, is a understatement. :annoyed:

One more time, since some people can't understand what is going on.
The version that we just released was feature locked for the most part.
We didn't want to mess with a stable release on unproven things.
We don't have enough people to fix all the bugs we would like to fix.

Got it ? :annoyed:
/facepalm ...Grinch stole Warzone🙈🙉🙊 contra principia negantem non est disputandum
Super busy, don't expect a timely reply back.

This non-constructive conversation is a good reason not to watch this forum...

If you want to change warzone code use the proper methods, tickets for bugs and patches of code updates to help the dev team along less destructive attitudes would be good.

I know you can get frustrated because change is slow.

SO use your time and be constructive.

Be Patient kiddies.
