Hero +1

How you do you get a Hero +1 commander? It says in the guide a hero must be made a commander. My commander has now gotten 1030 or so kills, so is a hero. Tried to recycle-rebuild him hoping he would turn into a Hero +1 unit, but it still says Hero.

The commander always stay an hero. However if the unit he lead is the same level or higher then the level of the commander, that units is considered one level higher.

Therefore, if an hero commander lead an hero unit, that unit will behave as an hero + 1 .

Oh, so the commander can never become Hero +1 and thus get the same benefits for all in the team?

But with a hero commander all in his team will get hero benefits right? That's how I understood it from the guide.

Yes, except heros, who will get hero+1.
