slow

Post by StuffedTurkey »

well..this game looks like it should be good..but im getting 4 fps at the greatest
i am slow in the menu as well, according to other posts it sounds like normally that would indicate a slow computer..which i doubt is the case considering i can run oblivion and bf2 without lag

3Ghz P4
2GB RAM
GeForce 6800 256mb

my guess is that it has to do with the fact that im running vista..im not sure what aspect of vista would make it incompatible

im thinking i might try to install ubuntu and seeing how it runs

vista has some opengl quirks -- afaik, you're required to turn off "aero", or whatever it's called, since that uses dx10, and dx10 takes all frame buffers hostage -- as long as aero is running, all opengl rendering is most likely limited to pure software, which explains the 4 fps.

it should be... notice i said "SHOULD"  be in the ... right click desktop - properties - appearance.

but if not there - possible it is in the start menu - control panel - performance and maintenance - adjust visual effects...

or in control panel - appearance and themes...

if not in any of those - it is entirely possible that it is an entire program itself... in which case - it may have controls... where they would be... dunno... as i dont have vista yet....

i usually wait for the 2nd or 3rd repair package to come out and be accepted by the populace. ;D
