First of all thank you for the game. It took 5 days to beat champaign
Here is some game details i would like you to improve (or just pay attention during the development):
- Graphics... Generally its fine. The problem is in similar appearence. It is hard to distinct units with different weapons from each other. Unit design should be more colorful and stylish.
- AI. I can't say anything about enemy AI. Probably it's fine. The major issue here is player's units AI. Just put an order to attack enemy tower with 4 or more bombard units and you will see the flaw. The same thing happen when you build using several trucks. That is really annoying. The fix is simple - no unit can disturb busy unit. Another problem is chaos in movement. If you order large force to move you will find that units cannot find proper place at the end of movement. It looks like hive with hornets but without honey. Another bad situation happen when you have a bottleneck place on map and your army moving through it. Any option "retreat on injury" will cause road blocks and huge problems to you moving army. The solutions is to set retreating unit is unable to break any other routes exept other retreating.
- Where is the end?... It's a pity there are no "You are a winner!" at the end of the game.
- What is that?... It is 100% better to let player know about what is the result of research in numbers (i.e. missiles are now more accuracte by ~5%).
- Useless designs?... Lot of guns and platforms becoming obsolete. You can argue with this. In fact you are using 1-2 platforms and 2-4 weapons at any given time.
- Bunkers and turrets?... Many obsolete turrets/bunkers. Also you should allow player to mass change all guns already built in such structures without trucks (i.e. give it a special research like "automated weapon replacing")
- Researching... The only flaw here is "turrets" and "bunkers". I believe i must research a weapon only to use it in all ways.
- Weapons... Many weapons is good. No detail in-game information is no good. Also some weapons are quickly becomes obsolete and useless.
