Could it be possible to distribute high-quality and low-quality sequences.wz under different names? Using the same name makes the file mirroring painful and creates trouble for video support in at least FreeBSD port of warzone2100.
Thanks.

btw its a good idia, add an in-game option, to change between low & standart quality, so keep both FMV packs togather

I doubt it needs an option or merging packs - as I understand the reason for two packs is traffic/diskspace economy. FreeBSD port of wz is perfectly capable of letting a user chose between no/lq/hq video packs and installing arbitary named file as sequences.wz, however mirroring and keeping checksums for different files with the same name is a problem.

It actually was two different names before, then it was changed to make it 'easier' for people to install them (not having to rename them).

I believe the request was for the game to support loading them without renaming, which was proposed on the ML recently.

That would be perfect.Zarel wrote:I believe the request was for the game to support loading them without renaming, which was proposed on the ML recently.
