Is it just me, or has my game somehow become unstable:
I downloaded the game, played it for two days. Worked fine, never crashed a single time.
Then, last night, I downloaded some mods. The game became unplayable, It would crash to desktop giving me either a runtime error or nothing at all, depending on the mod (Xenon's and XANAX's mods, Xenon's gave no error, XANAX's gave the runtime error). So I deleted the files due to them screwing up the game. But now, even though I eradicated all trace of the mods from the game, it's now very unstable, randomly and instantly crashing to desktop for no reason. One second, I'm playing, the next second looking at my desktop. The screen doesn't even flash, the game window just vanishes within a nanosecond. Process and all. And I can't blame the mod, I erased them from my game directory. And I reset the shortcut.
So, in short, the game somehow developed instability somehow, most likely the mods. Please help, I can't seem to think of a reason why this is happening, and I really don't want to redownload the game again.

The download is 50 megs, it's both easier and requires no prior knowledge of your system or what you did to your game.

No good, I reinstalled, still crashes. Actually, it crashes more than it did before I reinstalled it. In fact, I can link it to one specific spot as well. In the Gamma mission where you have to lead the scout team back, it says Mission Timer Act- and crashes, always at that one spot.

So far the intruder virus theory seems more accurate.

Doesn't sound like a big mystery, try clearing out your mod folders (they don't get cleared on uninstall afaik.)HEXUS wrote:I downloaded the game, played it for two days. Worked fine, never crashed a single time.

I said I deleted the mods I downloaded. As in highlighting all the mods and hitting delete.

Mods can be read from several folders; have you checked all of them? Also check your maps folders.HEXUS wrote:I said I deleted the mods I downloaded. As in highlighting all the mods and hitting delete.
