4c-Australia

4c-Australia is a new map developed by me (Berg very thoughtfully provided the heightmap, which was a lot if not most of the work though :)). This map is, obviously, Italy turned into a Warzone map. I recommend playing with 4 players, T1, no bases, and with scavenger AI turned on.

I attempted to turn a couple of landmarks into strategically important points - Alice Springs, Broken Hill, the Gold Coast, Adelaide and Darwin all play host to Scavengers. Cape York, Melbourne, Perth and (a small area right next to Darwin :P) are the players start points. (Tasmania sucks, it doesn't have a thing on it worth taking.)

Be careful when playing with scavengers on - they can become powerful very quickly and easily with the resources at their disposal. It may be worth making alliances with other players to destroy the scavenger bases before attempting full-scale warfare.

Ayers Rock is climbable, as is the Great Dividing Range. You may want to use these to your advantage. Don't forget, since Tasmania's just a big dumb piece of land, you can fly some cyborgs over there, then rebuild and invade Melbourne.

I aimed for a playable, fun concept when I originally built this, I hope I've done it right.

Known bugs:

-Ayers Rock has a horrible texture job in 2.3 only (trunk is fine) (not going to fix, probably)

Anyway, I'm sorry that I upped the map to MegaUpload, but since the attachment system is borked in the forums right now, I'm not willing to take the chance.

One more thing, this is admittedly my first map, and a first version of said map, so things may be buggy.

Hmm... so this looks like another one of those custom maps that are just empty and flat and have no variety in the terrain our units are to traverse... *skip*

Nuff Respeck

Hmm. Well, I kinda dig it. I'll give it a shot. I'll provide feedback a little bit later

Edit: It's a pretty good map, terrain is a little feature-less, but I love any map with scavs on it!

Australia called. They are claiming copyright on their continental outline.

Nice to see a map with room for a little maneuver warfare, btw.

Boris: Suggest improvements ... ?

stiv: That's what I was trying to build ;)

Olrox: And another game falls prey to our crappy government.
