Ubuntu Users!
Ubuntu Users!
I love warzone2100. Its an awesome game, but being an ubuntu user I have to compile it from source every time, and it was a very frustrating task before I got the hang of it. So my suggestion is to offer warzone in a .deb format. Considering a Fedora version is offered, and Ubuntu is MUCH more popular than Fedora. The warzone version in the Ubuntu repositories is only 2.2.2 (September 09 ... 7 months old).

Latest stable: http://packages.debian.org/sid/warzone2100
Fairly recent beta: http://packages.debian.org/experimental/warzone2100
Debian handles packaging .deb files. We really aren't involved.

Re: Ubuntu Users!
actually .deb can be created by using checkinstall.
Debian does only packagin for debian, which might cause problems with ubuntu.
For ubuntu you can also get packages at getdeb.net and playdeb.net, WZ is currently on 2.2.4.

Re: Ubuntu Users!
if you click on apps or games in the top menu, first thing you see are the instructions. There is even a .deb package that sets up the repository.
