Would be even more interesting if you were able to take over a player in the middle of the game and finish it from that point (like in Toribash )

But I think having replays like that would be difficult because every hit/miss would need to be saved and timed correctly. I don't know up to which level that complicates things, though.

Replays aren't too hard to do. It would probably be enough to just record all network activity and play it back.
