Unit/Structure information widget

Currently (2.3 beta 11) when we click on a unit or a structure, we get a little information on it on top of our screens. Name of unit, damage, experience (kills) and experience level for units, and various things for structures.

This should stay, but how about having a widget (info screen) with more information about the unit/structure?

I'm probably not alone in playing games in pretty high resolutions, which leads to a lot of space for such widgets.

I use 1920x1080, but even in 1024x768 there is room for more info, either on top of the unit instructions (and central panel) widget, or to the right of the central panel.

Currently there in no way in-game (at least to my knowledge) to see how strong a unit is, its armour, damage from attack, rate of fire, and so forth. It's pretty common to have such a panel, so I think it would be a great addition. I haven't played RTS games for a while, but IIRC Warcraft (3) had them, and I'm positive many others do too.

This bar could actually take up space across the whole bottom of the screen if needed. That way it could provide info on upgrades for various units, strengths/weaknesses (RPS-system) of the units, and so forth. If that takes up too much space, it would suffice with a squared box to the left with central info, such as HP, armour, attack and possibly experience (and kills).

The tech tree in this game is incredibly complex, especially for new players like myself, so some info on what the various ones do wouldn't go amiss. This could be provided in this (wide) panel. For example, after having clicked on Research, and hovering over a possible tech upgrade, info on that upgrade could be provided in the panel. For example how much is added to armour or attack, what new units will be available, and so on.

I suspect this would be a pretty big undertaking, but it would provide the game a way to give more feedback and information to the user. Rarely a bad thing.
