Campaign Auto Power Option
If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I would like to request an additional option for the campaign.
It would involve having the game automatically giving you the extra power that would be provided (up to say, X mins before the mission ends)
E.G
I complete the mission with an extra 30mins on the clock
next mission begins with an extra (30- X) mins worth of power
so let's say I complete a timed mission really fast and have nothing else to do, instead of speeding up the game and sitting there for ages, I could safely end the mission whenever I am ready.
Ideally this would be a config option
say autopower = X
of x=0, same as default behaviour
I did a search for fast power campaign for this subforum, but didn't see anything.
Apologies if I am suggesting something that has already been covered and rejected.

Re: Campaign Auto Power Option
Hmmm, like a "Time Bonus", so IF you completed a mission, with a remaining time of say... 5.43
For each minute that is left (1.00) receive 100 Power, Thus, the seconds that are left ".43" will also give 43 Power
There for, when a completion Remaining time of "5.43" the player will receive 543 power for the next round, as a "Time Bonus"... however, making the Minute (1.00) depends on the difficulty you choose
Easy - X2.0 Power (5.43) = 1,086
Normal - X1.0 Power (5.43) = 543
Hard - X0.5 Power (5.43) = 271(.5)

Back and working on more maps than before.

I also like the idea.
But what about those maps without time limits?
May as well just have unlimited power...

Re: Campaign Auto Power Option
I think we should maybe get rid of time limits for a lot of levels, and instead just implement power limits. I mean, once you add power limits, the only difference is you don't have to reload an earlier save when you run out of time.

Time is much more than a trickle of resources, it's also useful for building defences, research, repairing and designing units.

I mean even lower power limits.
A limit of 100,000 isn't actually going to do anything.

Re: Campaign Auto Power Option
Damn good idea. It's really annoying having to wait for your power to tick up and is probably the main reason I don't want to play through the campaign anymore (after 3 completions). It could just not apply to the missions without any time limit...
Full of ideas - Most are probably useless. Feel free to ignore them

Re: Campaign Auto Power Option
If you want to spend the mission time doing stuff, then you can. All this would do is give you the OPTION to end the mission early, without losing out on the extra power.
Ideally, it would also credit the extra time towards your current research as well - but that isn't anywhere near as important as getting the power.
the Time Bonus suggested by DraLUSAD is NOT a good idea, since it doesn't take your current generators/power technology into account.
The extra power you receive should give no advantage that you couldn't get by just waiting until the timer gets low.
The idea of having it adjustable is so people can tailor it to their gameplay (hardcore players would normally end with 1min or less on the clock), for extra difficulty you could set the timer offset to 20mins.
For a map with time limits I would suggest no extra power.
Having power limits without timer limits means you could research out the tech trees before continuing, I would prefer that the time limits remain.
