Resolution presets

Post by phly95 »

I don't like pressing the resolution button over & over because I reach my resolution and I pass it, I get REALLY frustrated that I have to do it again!!
Instead, have presets like this:
[1080p] [standard] [720p] [480p] [custom]

(note: standard means 1280x768 and custom makes a pop-up with that annoying button)

When did this ###p business become the accepted way of setting computer resolutions? I'm all for a better resolution setting interface, but please keep it good 'ole NxN instead of Np

They're TV resolutions, anyway - who plays Warzone on a TV? I've never found a single computer with 720p or 480p resolution...

I have a 1080p full HD monitor! It's small like one too yet widescreen and HD. Plus youtube shows it that way in their videos. and I know about the options, it's just I miss the res. I want and have to start over.

1080p is 1920x1080, which is the res I use on my 24".

Besides, you set it once and leave it. I don't get what the big deal is.

Why don't you just right click to go back to your resolution? ( Left click increases, right click decreases.)

You could also use shortcuts (or equivalent on your platform) to enter command line options to set your desired resolution. This seems like one of the better solutions if you need to change the resolution often.

1080p (1920x1080) is a somewhat common monitor resolution, but 720p is (afaik) nonexistent in computers, and 480p is the name of two different screen resolutions. It's generally a terrible idea to refer to a resolution as ####p, unless you're talking about a video or something, which Warzone is not.

Anyway, resolution changing is relatively clunky in most games. It's usually something you set once and forget about - if you need to do it often, there's always command-line switches and config files. I actually like Warzone's clicklist better than most games' laggy drop-downs.

Also, we don't include any resolution presets, but get them from the system, since that offers all supported resolutions. Why would you want to have resolutions listed your system doesn't support?

Could at least make it a combobox instead. I found it irritating having to cycle through them all just to see what was on offer, and then have to keep going through each time I passed the one I wanted.

The above, and the fact that Warzone doesn't have combobox support (I think I was supposed to mention that earlier).

Right click doesn't make it go back for me.

Make it have combobox support :P
