Is it possible to miss technologies/artifacts in campaign?

Post by otocan »

Hi

I completed Gamma 9 yesterday (attack on Nexus final base) and the game came to an all-too-soon finish. On re-reading the guide I see a sh*t load of technologies that I never had such as: Wide Spectrum Sensor, Twin Assualt Gun, EMP Cannon, Satellite Uplink Center.
Did I somehow miss these or are they only available in Skirmish mode or something?
I always research everything I find and there is nothing left in the research menu.
I have version 2.2.4.
Cheers.

K

P.S. I had this game on the PS and I was over the moon to find a freeware version online, well done for all your hard work.

Those technologies are only in skirmish.

So they were all created by this project?
Thanks for the reply.

No, they were all created by Pumpkin, during the updates between 1.00 and 1.10.

So many great units/structures not utilized in the main game! What a shame...
Are there any mods that let you add these techs to campaign mode? If not then I guess I'm off to play Skirmish...

Nope, not that I know of. I do want to add some of them (namely, Heavy Repair Turret) to campaign eventually, though.

Yes, the better repair turret was one I noted as definitely needed in campaign.
Cheers for info.

Be nice for some other techs to be added/fixed.

Assault gun emplacement in cam2 is silly.. and is replaced with the tower in cam3 anyway.
Lancer tower could do with being available.
Flamer tower.
HvyMG tower. (not the steel one, the concrete one).

Yes, it is possible to miss technologies/artifacts in campaign.

This is incorrect. -Zarel

Bullshit.
you want a save game to prove this?
you have no clue what your talking about and it shows when you edited http://developer.wz2100.net/wiki/Cheats
there are at least 4 more things on that list that can break campaign games or cause stability issues that you removed for a assumption like " Remove "campaign mode only" column - only affects two cheats; can be said".
then people go ahead and use the cheats and it causes crashes or undefined behavior.
nice one.

sure boss.
what kind of proof you want?
how about the list of cheats that can ruin games?
for starters let me win, give all, get off my land, ...

those are known - they have been in since the beginning - they are not cheats - they were put in to help with development - actually speed things along.... perhaps they have served their purpose??. you want them removed?

Oh, I didn't know you were referring to cheats. Yes, it's possible to miss artifacts in campaign if you use the "let me win" cheat (and I think the "time toggle" cheat might do it, too). If you don't use those cheats, then no, it's not possible.

There are indeed more things on that list that can cause instability, but I wasn't the one who removed the "can cause stability issues" check. All I did was change "Campaign mode only" from a checkbox to a note.

I understand "let me win", but what about "give all" and "get off my land"? Are you sure those are unstable? iirc, "give all" could give you a topic that would crash when you tried to research it in 1.10, but we already fixed that.

I'd like proof that you can miss technologies in the campaign without using cheats.
