Hello out there

Post by LPC-Disco_Inferno »

Been a while since I looked into anything related to WZ. Today I was browsing around for some fun old school RTS games and I can across WZ and this website.

I din`t know that the game still had so many active people working on it. It been so long ago since I did anything even remotely related to WZ tho I still remember testing out stuff for 1.12 a long time ago like the landmines with 4nik8ter or what was his name lol. Old memories.

So I downloaded me the last stable version and figured I might kick some AI ass. I took the rush map out and set 3 AI in a team against me. But I guess much has changed since 1.10. The AI din`t had to much problems with me. Plus it seems that the techtree is changed quite a bit. The research routes are not what I remember them to be.

Kinda sucks to get your ass handed to you my some AI`s. Especially when you consider that I played around 6000 online games back in the days. Those were the days...<3

I guess the old times are gone and nobody is playing 1.10 on the old`o so popular maps anymore. Guess that generation back from the Gamespy days are gone :-(, atleast that as far as I know. Maybe someone knows more then me. Been away for a long time.

Anyway it`s nice to see your guys are still at it.After all of this time. I guess it been a long road since NEWST and rts.net.

Welcome back!

Tech tree hasn't changed too much. Cyborg Factory requires Engineering now, and Lancer requires minipod accuracy and damage upgrades. Oh, and you need to build a CC to get MG tower. Those are the only changes I can think of that would make anything harder to find.

Most of the popular maps in the 1.10 days had tons of power, so they had completely different balance than the default Pumpkin maps. It's understandable if you lose on Rush. ;)

Feel free to try 2.3 beta 3, it has many more improvements, and as far as I know it's more stable than the latest stable. ;)
