2.3 b2-New features won't work!

Post by KukY »

* Gameplay:
  • Change: You can now repair/rearm/upgrade/guard allied units and structures. (r8432, ticket:1084)
  • Change: Cursors should now more accurately represent what happens when you click there. (r8432, ticket:1084)
  • Change: Cyborg transports can be unloaded with Alt+click. (r8421, ticket:1084)
  • Change: VTOLs will scout with Alt+click. (r8432, ticket:1084)
  • Change: Repair turrets are more reliable now, and don't fidget before repairing. (r8421, ticket:1084)
  • Change: You can damage your own units/structures with Alt+click again. Allies are still immune. (r8432, ticket:1084)
  • Change: Cyborg transports should fly at a lower height now - so they shouldn't take so long to descend. (r8430)
I try to damage my own structure-No damage is done!
I Alt+click on transport-I't won't unload!

Please help me,I was so happy because of those features.

For the transport, select it and then Alt+click were you want to unload it's cyborgs. That's how it works, I was confused for a while too.

When testing Zarel's patch in trunk I was able to attack and damage my own structures.

The cursors should be a guide - they change depending on the action performed. With a transport selected, if you mouse over the ground and hold Alt, the cursor turns into a "load transport" cursor (I'm in the process of making an "unload transport" cursor.) Similarly, if you select attack units, hover over one of your own units/structures, and hold down Alt, the cursor changes to an "attack" cursor.

I suppose I could add another shortcut of Alt-click to "unload transport here" if you click on the transport. That might be simpler.

Edit: Oh, wait, no we can't, Alt-click on own transport already means "attack own transport".

Thanks,transports unloading works.
Can it be automatized so after Transport unloads units somewhere, it returns for repair? I think it would be great.

But i still can't damage my own structures.
Does it matters if I use mod that enables multi-turrets?
I select 5 Dragon Hover 3 Pulse Lasers and I order them to kill old Viper Wheels Truck.
They shoot at truck,but lasers just go throught truck and hit air.
I also tried with Gauss and Scourge super cyborgs, but same thing happens.

Hmm, maybe I forgot to apply that fix to 2.3-branch. Lemme check.

Before that, I played challenges,and there I destroyed my whole base with my units after I won.
But in skirmish it won't work.

Oh, yeah, turns out I forgot to enable it for direct weapons. It will work correctly in the next release.

So it is working for artillery?
Let me check...
<After 2 minutes and 47 seconds.>
Yeah,Dragon Hover 3 Archangel destroyed my LasSat in 2 salvoes.

I have an idea for making a BUG.
Wait...
<After 2 minutes and 10 seconds.>
No.

But when I select attack unit and hold ALT, while moving cursor to target, cursor changes to "Attach to sensor" icon.

Nope, that (as I had Zarel explain to me) is scouting. Basically you tell your unit to go somewhere and if there is something that it can attack before it reaches its destination, it will stop and attack it.

Ahh,
I forgot about that.
It was in original post.

That VTOL scouting is great, just tried it.

No. What about all the people who don't want to return for repair after unloading units? No other command immediately does something else after doing something (unless it's directly necessary, such as VTOLs rearming after attacking). Why should this be any different?

Just alt+click the ground, then shift+alt+click the repair facility. We have a queuing system for good reason.

Although I prefer to call it "attack-move", which is what most other games call it.

Also keep in mind that alt+click with VTOLs does the Patrol order, not the Scout/Attack-Move order.
