Game freezes in mission 8.

Right when the first reinforcement transport lands at LZ 2, the game freezes every single time. Is there a solution?

I am running v. 2.2.2-1~getdeb1 in Ubuntu 9.04, with a Intel Q9000 and a Quadro FX 2700 M.

Yeah, but from where? As far as I can tell from the download page, the only option is to compile the source code myself, which I have unsuccesfully spend the better part of an hour trying to do.

Really? What kind of problems are you getting?

Just missing packages. But finding the right ones in Synaptic involved a lot of guesswork and trial and error for me, and thus a lot of time.
Isn't there a repository with a precompiled version anywhere?

Yes. It's just not available with 2.2.3 yet. I guess you'll have to wait.

For future reference, I solved it by installing 2.2.3 in Windows, playing past the crash point, and the loading it back up in 2.2.2 in Linux.

You will run into issue again. Just get this http://packages.debian.org/sid/warzone2100 they updated to 2.2.3
