New Maps on Mac ver2.2.2

Post by arnoldra »

Ok. I checked all the FAQs. Searched the snot outta the forums. I have no answer.

My question:

How do install d/led addon maps in version 2.2.2 on a Mac? I do not have the directory listed in the faq. All the other places that the forum(s) tell to look and go do not work. The closest post I have found that helps is this one:

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2981&p=30082&hilit= ... all#p30082

Anyone? Seriously? Please? I reaaaaally wanna play new maps!

I got this!
I have successfully installed custom maps for my Mac version of Warzone.
Give me a second to type this up. I'll edit my post in a bit.

Step 1:
Quit out of Warzone.

Step 2:
Download a Map from the Forums
Here's the thread you're looking for:
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2707
Download pretty much any map in there, although I would suggest one that ends in ".wz" for simplicity's sake.

Step 3:
Click on Finder down there in your dock. It should open your home folder, if not, navigate there yourself. Within your home folder, you should see other (default) folders named Music, Movies, Pictures, Sites, Library, and Public.

Step 4:
Open the Library folder.

Step 5:
Open the folder named "Application Support" and find the folder named "Warzone 2100 2.2". Open it.

Step 6:
Within this folder, you should find another folder named "maps". Drop your map (the .wz file) into the maps folder, and you're done. Boot up Warzone, and your map should be in there somewhere.

Hope that helps. let me know if you run in to any problems.

Yup.

I don't have the folder in my Application Support Folder for Warzone 2100.

I've tried to create it on my own but that doesn't work.

uh oh.
Developers: Shouldn't Warzone create a new "Warzone 2100 2.2" folder if it detects that it doesn't already have one?

Did you create another folder within it called "maps" as well? .wz map files have to go in that particular sub folder.
Waitaminute. If you don't have that folder in Application Support, where are your save files? That's where Warzone writes all campaign and skirmish save files.

Can you save and load a game successfully?

Search for a file with the name you gave the savegame, that should find where they are.

Um, are you sure you don't have that directory?

Remember, this:

~/Library/Application Support/Warzone 2100 2.2/maps/

means this:

/Users/<your username>/Library/Application Support/Warzone 2100 2.2/maps/

If you don't have that directory, you can always create it, and it will work...
