i have figured out the that error with reading the PCX (at least for me) is the Button.pcx file
it is located in Beta World...../DATA
the error say something like: problem reading PCX (file location C:\Beta World Editor 32 bit -128 by128 -png\Newmaps\Data\Buttons.PCX
is it possibly broken or can i re-download just this PCX file?

Can't say I have ever seen that error before.
I would do a clean reinstall, and look at Coyote's tutorials.
