Ports Issue

Post by kyonu »

For some reason, I unlocked the ports, and we were having this awesome 8-way game goin for a couple hours, (which includes the generic crashing in the middle on almost every game) but for some reason now, I can't host. It says "cannot connect to lobby, please check to see if port 2100 is open" or whatever it is, and... Well, it is open. And so is port 9990. My firewall is off completely, and there is no Router firewall to think of.

Any reason why it would start doing this randomly all of the sudden? It was working great for a couple hours, then BOOM!

:(

Do you have a crash dump? If you see a file in Program Files/Warzone 2100/warzone2100.RPT please upload it.

The lobby could be down. Can you host now?

By the way, if you have a router, you need to configure it to port forward to your computer, regardless of whether or not it has a firewall. Although if you were able to host before, you've probably already done that.

After you start hosting, check port 2100 on canyouseeme.org - it's down less often than the lobby itself.

Yeah, it said it could not see the port. IE, "Error: I could not see your service on 71.231.80.150 on port (2100) Reason: Connection timed out"

I just don't see how it suddenly "does not work". To answer your question, it still doesn't want to host, but i can currently see 2 games hosted in the lobby, and can connect easily.

About the crash-dump, my folder does not seem to have one. I only crashed a couple times, but the guys that were playing with me crashed a multitude of times. I will ask if they have one, but they've all gone to bed now, but I will keep this updated for that.

Well now it's working. I don't know if the lobby was down or whatever the issue is, but now I can make a game.

Curious, does the lobby crash constantly? Almost every time I host games, I come back to host and it says my ports are not open. I'm wondering, would there be another causing factor, or is the lobby just very unstable?

I've never had this problem, so perhaps it is an issue with your ISP.

The lobby is down rarely, but not anytime within the last few months.

How would I know if it is my ISP? My internet seems to be working properly, and all of the required ports are open. All the computers in my house have the same problem, as do many of my friends. (Most of them don't even know how to open the port, however.)

Is the lobby down right now? Currently it is giving me the same issue.

Is there anyway to find out why it's not letting me in? Any other settings besides just the Port opening and firewall?
