AHH! Where'd my textures go? Ready for the creepy part?
Fresh installs (Which include deleting the Warzone folder in application support) of 2.2rc1, 2.2beta1, and 2.1.3 yield the same result.

Problem Details: wrote:Summary: Warzone 2100, a game currently developed by the Warzone Resurrection Project, is an RTS game for Mac/Windows/Linux. The game ran flawlessly on my Mac until I updated to 10.5.7. I had been using Warzone 2.2rc1 with OSX version 10.5.6 with no problems. After updating to version 10.5.7 without altering Warzone, the terrain textures have vanished. (They can still be found in Warzone's file structure, but they are completely absent in game, see attached image)
Clearly, the problem is directly related to the switch from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7.
Reinstalling the game (completely) has no effect.
It works correctly on other Macs without NVIDIA cards. It works on Macs with NVIDIA cards pre 10.5.7. It works on other operating systems with and without NVIDIA hardware.
Steps to Reproduce:
• Launch Warzone (fresh install or otherwise; any version)
• Start a game (campaign, tutorial, or skirmish)
Expected Results:
• Terrain loads using standard textures bundled within the application.
Actual Results:
• The terrain will load, but will appear perfectly white in place of the usual textures. (See image)
Regression:
• Occurs with any version of warzone (2.2.0 and earlier) as long as the user is running 10.5.7
Notes:
All other Mac users that have posted in the forums have reported the same problem, that is to say that no Mac users have reported correct behavior after updating to 10.5.7.

That picture is from trunk, and the textured terrain you see is rendered differently than in 2.2. The untextured terrain is rendered the same. And you say it yourself:heatwave wrote:but its beginning to sound like it might be Warzone's problem, judging by this picture posted in the other topic
It works on basically any system with working OpenGL drivers. Perhaps Warzone uses an otherwise seldom used function, and it didn't appear in their tests. But unless you (or someone else with that problem) can find out what is wrong to fix it, all I can say is: Complain to those who made the broken driver. It works correctly on other Macs without NVIDIA cards. It works on Macs with NVIDIA cards pre 10.5.7. It works on other operating systems with and without NVIDIA hardware.

As you've determined, NVIDIA equipped Macs running OS X 10.5.7 exhibit this problem. Curiously, I've not been able to find any NVIDIA specific development between 10.5.6 and 10.5.7. Instead, some work on the ATI drivers was done. Curiously, I gather that work is being done on those drivers to fix ATI related issues. That tiny subset of Mac users that also run Warzone 2100 should await the 10.5.8 release, and hope.heatwave wrote:

Why don't you revert to 10.5.6 again then? Or use the 10.5.6 drivers on 10.5.7?heatwave wrote:![]()
It'll probably be Snow Leopard after 10.5.8.
