Warzone music does not play

Post by coolchr »

I have bought a computer at a garage sale recently for $10.00 and it came with these system specs:

Win98 SE
Intel PIII - 450 MHz
384MB RAM
ATI Rage 128 PRO AGP - 8MB
Creative SoundBlaster 128PCI Audio

I installed the ORIGINAL Warzone 2100 game. Next, I run game for 1st time, then install patch 1.10. I go back into the game and there is no music playing. There was no music even before the patch was installed. Does someone know of this problem? Disc 1 is already in CD Drive D:\.

This is tech support for the 2.1+ versions of Warzone 2100. We do not support versions of Warzone that old. Please install a newer version or seek help elsewhere.

Also worth pointing out the Windows 98 is not supported by Microsoft any more.

Using an unsupported operating system is never a good idea.

It's probably a good idea to upgrade.

What's wrong with running an old OS on an old system? Looks like the perfect system for Win98 and the original Warzone.

Viruses. Since the OS is unsupported, vulnerabilities don't get patched, etc, etc.
